National Health & Safety Committee

The Committee consists of ASI member company professionals and aims to cultivate a healthier and safer steel industry through promotion and education support. The National H&S Committee engages the State Safety Committees to comment and assist with Health & Safety programs and activities and provides guidance via mentors in each State group.

Core principles:

  • All injuries and work-related illnesses can and must be prevented
  • Management is responsible and accountable for health and safety performance, employee engagement and training
  • Working safely is a right of employment
  • Excellent health and safety performance at work supports excellent business results. Health and safety must be integrated in all business management processes to support that.

The ASI encourages and invites all members to participate in the State Safety Committee forums.
