ASI Event Terms and Conditions

1. Event fees and membership

Event fees are quoted in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST. Inclusions such as course notes and refreshments are described for each course. Group discounts may apply to events where table bookings can be made.

Individual membership under the ASI Constitution is not transferrable to any other person or entity. As a result, individual members are only entitled to membership prices for events for themselves. There are no circumstances where this benefit can be transferred. Should an individual member wish to register other persons, the charge will be at the non-member rate for that event. If the system allows registration at a member price, the ASI reserves the right to modify additional registrations at the non-member rate. We will notify you if this occurs.

 2. CPD

All event attendees at those events eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points may use the confirmation of registration and/or tax invoice/receipt as a record for a CPD Program. You may need to verify the qualification of the event with your professional body for CPD purposes.

3. Registration issues

If you prefer not to register online for an event, you can phone the Accounts Assistant on 02 8748 0191 to arrange payment by alternative means. Please note that your event registration is not confirmed until payment has been received.

4. Payment

Prepayment in full is required for all events requiring payment. The ASI reserves the right to refuse entry until such time as the payment is settled if payment is not received prior to the event, seminar or other function.

Online payment for a course can be made by:
Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX). There is a surcharge applicable to AMEX cards.

5. Cancellations

Attendees are entitled to a full refund of their event fees if they cancel their place more than five (5) working days prior to the event commencement date. Fees are not refundable for cancellations made within five (5) working days from the event commencement. Attendee substitution may be made at any time. Cancellations and no-shows on the day of the event commencement receive no refund.

The Australian Steel Institute reserves the right to cancel events for any reason including if they are under-subscribed. In such cases any event fees paid will be fully refunded. We may also, in exceptional circumstances, use substitute speakers.

6. Refunds

Where a registrant requires a refund that complies with the conditions of the cancellation policy, the amount will be returned in full in the form the payment was originally received. This will vary only in the event that the registrant requests it to be returned via another method. It will only be returned to the payer. It will be returned within and not exceeding ten (10) working days unless prior notice or unforeseeable circumstances cause a delay. If this happens the ASI will notify the registrant of the delay and the reason why a delay has occurred.
