This seminar has been developed to promote the correct application of design codes for loadings and appropriate design of light gauge cold formed steel buildings.
Course details:
12.00 pm Registrations and introduction over light lunch
12.30 pm Loads - dead, live and wind, local pressure factors; design example; overview of portal envelope design; cladding design, purlin and girt design; load cases, types of analysis, serviceability, design examples
2.30 pm Afternoon tea
2.45 pm Portal frame design: portal columns, rafters and structural braces; portal connections; bracing, footings, design examples. Critical elements of design: checklist and certification. Open forum.
5.00 pm Close
Presenter:
Stephen Healey, Director of Eclipse Consulting Engineers, is a professional engineer with extensive experience in design of light gauge steel buildings. Stephen also has experience in research and product development of cold formed steel
sections.
