Feedback sought on safer onsite working guide

The ASI seeks the views of those with a stake in the safe erection of steelwork on a new guidance document prepared in response to a WorkCover Authority of NSW enforceable undertaking (EU). The draft Guide was prepared by a working group from the ASI, Brookfield Multiplex Constructions and various industry representatives including engineers, fabricators and erectors to provide a balanced view on industry good practice. The Guide is intended as a basis for industry awareness and education and to drive positive change. The feedback will be collated, reviewed and incorporated where relevant into the draft document to form the basis for publication of the final Guide. According to ASI National Technical Development manager, Dr Peter Key this initiative is significant and demonstrates an excellent outcome for the industry from an EU.
