In recognition of the significant damage being caused to the local steel fabrication industry by the surge in very low-priced imported fabricated steelwork into Australia, the ASI Board has determined the issue is so serious as to warrant the initiation of a Safeguard action. Safeguard actions are trade remedies used by governments to protect domestic industries from unfair competition.
