Normoyle Engineering has a diverse and renowned history of custom projects. Throughout the company’s extensive history, we have shaped the business to become a key player in the custom architectural and structural project field, for the biggest builders in the country.
We have been key subcontractors for Lend Lease, Leighton, Thiess, John Holland and many others, being heavily involved in the design and manufacture of a wide range of custom projects such as The Darling Exchange Timber Façade (Lend Lease), Crown Casino Spiral Stair (Lend Lease), Jackson’s Landing (Lend Lease), the Sydney Desalination plant (John Holland), the Melbourne Desalination plant (Thiess), UTS Dr. Chau Chak Wing (Lend Lease), Barangaroo (Lend Lease) and the Melbourne East Link (Thiess John Holland), among many others.
F & D Normoyle Engineering was founded 133 years ago in Young in 1890 by Dave Normoyle- an Irish coach builder and blacksmith. Dave, and his son Jack, grew the business in Young to become one of, if not the, largest structural steel company in the country, boasting the success of such projects as parliament house in Canberra and Stadium Australia in Sydney for the 2000 Olympic games. Jack passed away at age of 47, when the current Managing Director of F & D Normoyle Engineering, David Normoyle, was just 13. David, with the aid of various managers guided Normoyle Engineering through the next few decades, eventually becoming National Engineering. During this time, David did many works for Civil and Civic. Following this, David re-established F & D Normoyle Engineering in Sydney.
In the more recent years, Normoyle Engineering’s keen ability to grow with the technology of the industry has meant we stay well ahead of the game, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the custom projects field. We take great pride in our ability to work with builders, architects and engineers to develop the industries most complicated works into reality.
