Advanced analysis to AS 4100 webinar

Advanced Analysis to AS 4100

Webinar available to view from 25 June to 23 July

The draft revision of AS 4100 Steel Structures contains extensive provisions for designing structures by advanced analysis in lieu of using the member and connection provisions of Sections 5-9 of the Standard. Using advanced analysis in designing steel structures can provide several benefits including more accurate structural behaviour prediction, improved stability analysis and optimisation of material usage.

The updates to AS 4100 including Section 4 and the comprehensive new provisions for designing by advanced analysis, represent significant advancements, allowing for improved structural efficiency, more uniform reliability and greater realism in steel design.

Presented by Kim Rasmussen, Challis Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney this seminar will provide an in-depth explanation of the upcoming changes to AS 4100 as regards advanced analysis to provide engineers with the information needed to optimise steel designs to produce more economical and efficient structures.
