Minister for Emergency Services Stephen Dawson will head a star-studded speaker line-up for the ASI’s end-of year lunch in Perth on Wednesday 20th November. 

Hosted at the Frasers Function Centre in Kings Park, West Perth, the event will explore government sustainability, and procurement policy for steel along with a review of the ground-breaking Green Steel WA project.

The lunch’s speaking line-up features:

  • Acting manager for sustainability policy and strategy transport sustainability and strategic projects at the Department of Transport Susie Page speaking on the transport portfolio’s vision for connected, resilient, safe and sustainable transport solutions.
  • Green Steel WA non-executive director Don Johnston will give project overviews and updates on his 20-years’ experience as an advisor and a senior executive in energy and infrastructure. Don’s background brings a sharp strategic, yet practical, mindset to the team. Green Steel of WA is a 100% Western Australian company with the goal of creating a sustainable steel manufacturing industry for Western Australia.
  • WA Minister for Emergency Services and Minister assisting the Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade Stephen Dawson speaking about the WA Industry Participation Plan, which requires government to consider using WA supply chains. Minister Dawson will also speak on successes bringing back bulk rail wagon work to WA. 

The event will appeal to ASI fabricator members, ASI professional members, government personnel involved in procurement, individuals and companies interested in Green Steel WA’s projects, and companies interested in the WA Deptartment of Transport’s procurement policies including emissions reduction policies.
