ASI webpage encourages careers in steel

ASI has launched an exciting new webpage to encourage careers in steel.

The page provides a range of resources for careers advisers and students on everything from traditional roles such as steel fabrication and engineering to emerging roles in robotics and automation, sustainability and the circular economy.

ASI training and development manager Anne Lobascher said it is more important now than ever to ensure clear pathways for students into steel careers, with job shortages in key trades and professions. “The webpage will help careers advisers more easily recognise the benefits of steel careers and help them point students in the right direction”.

Anne would also like to hear from steel businesses interested in presenting to careers advisers about the specialist positions they offer. “By going direct to the career advisers they almost certainly ensure a ready pool of labour going forward,” she said.

Companies wanting to present or simply find out more about the ASI careers initiative can contact Anne at annel@steel.org.au. Click here to go to the careers webpage.
