Infrastructure Traineeship program

New initiative to help boost youth employment

Steel employers are invited to help build a pipeline of young infrastructure talent by hosting a new infrastructure traineeship program.  

Under the two-year NSW Government program, trainees will spend eight months in a government organisation, eight months with a contractor, and eight months with a consultant organisation. 

The trainee's salary is funded by each government agency and a group training organisation (GTO) service fee. 

By participating in the program, employers can help create employment for young people who are disproportionately affected by unemployment and shine a light on office-based infrastructure roles in areas such as planning and procurement.
