Welding Fume Harms Study update

A study on welding safety and fume control funded by the NSW Centre for Work Health and Safety has been completed by Curtin University and The University of Sydney.  With the study now complete, ASI is pleased in conjunction with the Industry Reference Group to share links to three updated guidance documents on the topic from Weld Australia. These documents reflect the latest standards and issues in welding safety and provide valuable resources for industry professionals:

Weld Australia Guidance Note TGN-SW01 - Fume Minimisation Guidelines – 2024: Recently revised to include up-to-date information on substitution techniques to reduce weld fume exposure, this document contains restructured recommendations based on the hierarchy of control. It also now includes a self-audit form to assist with weld fume evaluation.
