Cold-formed light-gauge steel is a continuing growth area in Australia. Whilst Australia has always been a leader in cost-effective high-performance roofing and walling systems, and the use of light-gauge steel in domestic construction is trending, we are now experiencing significant innovation and growth in newer application areas such as 'flat-pack' systems, modular construction and primary structural framing in mid-level buildings. These applications are taking advantage of steel's benefits of strength, stiffness, robustness, lighter weight, dimensional stability and environmental resistance.
