The Western Australian State Committee aims to provide a forum to discuss, develop and implement initiatives relevant to the Western Australian steel industry. It pursues this through providing a forum for extending national ASI programs, reviewing and commenting on national policies, contributing to delivering the ASI Business Plan, and helping position the ASI as a relevant peak body to engage on Australian steel issues. This Committee also aims to communicate trends in safety following direction from the ASI National Safety Committee.
This group is comprised of general management or owners of steel fabrication businesses located in WA. The purpose of the group is to identify issues of common concern, discuss industry development opportunities, and disseminate topical information to members. The group meets approximately three times per year. Participation is by invitation. Contact ASI State Manager WA, James England jamese@steel.org.au or mobile 0423 614 860.
We seek to encourage people working in the field of structural engineering to become active participants in its affairs. The Panel promotes the special interests of structural engineers within the institution.
The activities of the Panel are managed by a committee drawn from various industry sectors, such as commercial and general construction and offshore engineering. The Panel includes senior and younger engineers and organises a range of activities throughout the year. These include talks, field visits, seminars, short courses and training workshops. ASI members are encouraged to put forward ideas for inclusion.
