The Master Industry Code of represents an industry-led risk-based safety and compliance framework and provides a set of national standards and procedures developed to assist parties in the chain of responsibility to identify and mitigate risks to meet their obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL). The Industry Master Code is freely available to all heavy vehicle operators and supply chain parties and can also be used in court to highlight known risks and control methods.
The Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) prescribes certain requirements and obligations to ensure compliance and safety for all parties in the transport supply chain. The Chain of Responsbility (CoR) laws within the HVNL also outline a requirement to have safety systems and controls in your operations to identify, assess and manage risks as they relate to your business and activities within the supply chain.
Through a series of practical questions, the CoR Gap Assessment Tool enables you to examine your business practices and systems controls against known risks and recognised best practice.

The Master Industry Code also contains risk management process guidance to assist supply chain parties to manage their general safety obligations under the HVNL.
